BOULDER NEW HOME OFFICE

Boulder, CO Renovated New Office

Project: My clients bought their home through me in 2022 as their Realtor. It was their dream home, however, they knew it was lacking a home office. They both work from home and there wasn’t a space for a home office. Fast forward to 2025, they reached out to me asking me to help figure out a home office solution for them. There wasn’t an obvious solution in the home so I had to think outside the box. From a design standpoint, they like modern, natural elements, and they are really fun so I wanted to figure out a playful element.

Proposal: From a construction standpoint, I proposed removing a rarely used bar area in their upstairs bonus room and turn that into the office. There was just a little challenge with the ceiling being vaulted and how to work with the current elements of the home from both a construction standpoint and for lighting. I wanted to make sure the space felt like it belonged within the room. Additionally, the space overlooks a pretty cow pasture so I wanted to make sure my design concepts would allow a view out and not just be a closed-in office. For design, they decided on the wooden slats concept & Sasquatch Toile de Jouy wallpaper (which is so fun!). The wooden slats are from Andor Willow and you can open them to see the view or close them for privacy. I think with the wood slats complimenting the wood ceiling, it ties together perfectly. Hope my client’s co-workers enjoy the Sasquatches in the background on Zoom calls.
