Dark & Moody Denver Bathroom

Denver, CO Luxury Primary Bathroom

Project: My clients bought a new, historic home in Denver in early 2023. The home has so much charm & attention to detail, but my clients did not like any of the bathrooms – especially the primary bathroom. The design direction for the primary bathroom was dark & moody, incorporating deep teals or dark greens and including luxury elements.

Mood Board:

Proposal: I worked the design concept around the beautiful Fireclay Tile handmade tile in Evergreen. I proposed stacked horizontal 2″ x 8″ tiles up the wall behind the vanity with a vertical band of 2″ x 8″ across the top touching the ceiling. Then duplicated the pattern of vertical tiles to the shower to tie the tile designs together. The walls were painted black and complimented a classic white & black stone tile floor. For fixtures and lighting, brushed gold extends throughout the bathroom, including a gold framing around the niches in the shower. We choose extra large mirrors that extend up much of the vanity wall to draw your eyes up to the high ceilings and minimalist gold drop sconces to fit beautifully within the mirrors.
